We may be more advanced, but the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of these alternative fuels can only come with years of research. Oil's been around long enough and we've been forced to find more efficient ways of using and producing it just because of the sheer necesitty (it being our only source) Yes, biodiesel and ethanol exist. But how are we going to replace half of our oil imports with corn and grease? The grease, maybe. But do you think that 10.35 million barrels of CORN fuel could be produced daily?
