i also say that to people. like in a traffic stop. so many people i know think that they can come off with this smug attitude as if they know anything about law, and the cop ends up giving them way more of a hassle because they were an asshole. so they blame the cop saying that he was "violating their rights". i've been pulled over for violations that should have had me arrested on the spot, but i was honest and cooperated, and he let it go. if i had given that "i have rights, i dont have to listen to you" attitude, i would have been booked right then and there. if your rights are truly being violated, if you have researched and know all laws and by-laws, then you take it to court. arguing with the cop will get you know where, because like Arrowhead has stated, he is only doing his job. its not up to him to judge.
