because it's important to me to know why you think it's not racist to even subconsciously separate black people from other people. i'm not attacking you and i'm not trying to start an endless argument, but however you meant that comment to be taken, even if it was positive, it was racist. i'm sure when you typed "not a racist comment" you meant "i don't hate black people", and i'm sure that you don't. and wouldn't doubt that you have black friends. but the fact is that it mattered enough to you that you had to bring it up, which means that you must somehow think of black people differently than other people. i mean, you didn't say "there were like 200 people there with blonde hair". and if you had, doesn't it seem like a mundane observation to bring up, if it doesn't mean anything?

i also happen to believe that being socially conscious on all levels is pretty important. more important than marshalls, and more important than music. i know that you made that remark in good humor. i was just bringing up a point that you may not have realized.
again, i'm really not trying to attack you. i hope you don't feel that i am. you asked a question, and there's my answer. i wouldn't mind hearing your answer to mine.
