you can really mess your self up this way . i have learned to never push for volume or high pitch unless i'm sure i can do it . if i know its a bad night for me and i definatly can't then i drop an octave or get a bit closer to the mic . another good tip is : at a show do your sound check from 3-4 inched from the mic . then if you need more volume you move closer an inch or 2 and no one is the wiser . especially in the tail end of the screams when you begin to weaken .
