exclusive on my boy Chris' website gunshyassassin.com

should be hitting blabbermouth, lambgoat, etc tomorrow.

http://gunshyassassin.com/2010/08/31/exclu...nk-worldwide-deal-with-metal-blade/

I am not only psyched but honored to be able to bring you this news first, before anyone else will. It’s a Gun Shy Assassin exclusive! It’s something super exciting for me because…well, one of my oldest and dearest friends — His Emissary — is a member of Ipsissimus, the New Haven, Connecticut-based black metal three-piece who literally formed on June 6, 2006. Yeah…they’re that metal.

Hell, they even have black-on-black shirts. That’s fucking metal.

The news is that Ipsissimus has signed a worldwide deal with Metal Blade Records and will be entering Sonic Environments studio in Bloomfield, Connecticut, this month to record their first full-length album and Metal Blade debut. The good Jeff Weed — who owns the studio — will serve as the band’s “sonic alchemist,” engineering and producing the as-yet-untitled LP. The effort will feature three new tracks along with the band’s previously released EP Three Secrets of Fatima.

The band is comprised of bassist and vocalist Tichondrius, drummer Haimatokharmes, and a bad, bad man known as His Emissary on guitar.

“Metal Blade is a label that has been home to artists brutal, technical, filthy, blasting, wildly successful, and, most importantly, unique,” commented Haimatokharmes. “Ipsissimus is very proud to join this family, and looks forward to adoring the Goat with them by producing ritual black metal that is truly ipsissima!”

Metal Blade president Michael Faley describes the band as a “black metal symphony that is at the forefront of the American Black Metal movement… Ipsissimus is technical yet punishing, perfect for Metal Blade Records and fans of our brand of metal.”

The band have a number of gigs coming up that’ll see them sharing the stage with the likes of The Absence, Skeletonwitch, Withered, Landmine Marathon, Unearthly Trance, Black Pyramid, Suma, and more. I’ve been listening to this band since 2006 when they first started demoing shit. They specialize in devastatingly blasting black metal that will destroy you. I’m really looking forward to hearing what new material these guys come up with. If you’re unfamiliar with New England’s leaders of occult black magic, check out some of their stuff on MySpace.
