Two more bands are needed at Club 305 in East Providence, RI on Friday, December 10 w/Sacreligion, Paranoid, and more. The show is 18+, excellent sound provided.

Bands get custom tickets conveniently mailed to them with all the band names and set times printed on each ticket so they'll be easier to sell, each band gets to keep 100% of the money after their first ten tickets sold (so if you sell fifteen tickets, you keep $50; if you sell twenty tickets, you keep $100; if you sell thirty tickets, you keep $200; etc.)

This is a good opportunity to make some money as well as get some good exposure (the last show I booked there presold almost sixty tickets, and aside from that, there was also a total of about thirty regulars and band members watching each band's set). If your band is interested in playing and can sell at least ten tickets, please contact me ASAP at shadow@neca.com.

whos doing the sound for this show. i booked a couple shows @ this place & had to rent my own pa. this club really isnt that bad for shows but the pa that they had sucked so hopefully it isn't there sound system. good luck.

I am bringing my own 1400 Watt PA and running sound for all the bands personally. I work hard to make sure the mix is perfect out front and that everyone can hear well on stage. I mike not only the vocals, but the kick drum and guitars, pumping them through 2 18" subwoofers to create an extra heavy sound, and I have hall reverb effects available for vocals, kick drum, and lead guitar where appropriate. I even take great pains to turn up every guitar solo so that it's audible (most soundguys never even bother to do that).

I guarantee any band that plays this show will get much more professional sound that they're used to getting at gigs.

from someone who mispelled mics as "mikes" and think reverb on a kick in a hall is a good idea...........

So, bands have to pay $100 to get on this or just doesn't get paid unless they sell over that much?

1. Club 305 is not a hall, I said "hall reverb". Big difference.

2. Read the end of that same sentence, I said "where appropriate". If a band doesn't want reverb on the kick drum, I won't put it there. You'd be surprised though how much the *right amount* of reverb can make the whole drum sound in the room WAY more professional. But just to put this in perspective, no one has EVER complained to me about reverb on the kick drum out of over a hundred bands I've done sound for in the last year.

3. I use the words "mics" and "mikes" interchangably like most people. If you really want to be technical about it, neither is correct; the word in the dictionary is microphone. But really, who gives a fuck? And since when has anyone given a fuck about spelling on this board anyway? (And how can you criticize spelling when you don't even capitalize any of your letters?)

Actually it fails to mention what happens when you only sell 5 tickets...

Why not? Flat/dry kicks really dull up the mix...

Bands don't have to put any money down in advance, but at the show each band has to put $100 of their ticket money towards expenses, regardless of how many tickets they sell. That's why I made a point of saying that bands need to sell at least ten tickets for this show, that way no one has to pay out of pocket.

Ten tickets is nothing though, that's only like two or three people per band member.

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Dec 3,2004 5:06pm
haha..why is everyone so scared of selling tickets? it's almost as if they expect to do nothing and play in front of hundreds of people

toggletoggle post by ShadowSD at Dec 4,2004 12:57pm
Perils of Reasoning has just been added to the show.

Shadow's the man, the sound was great when we played, and he hooked it up. We'd play again but we can't sell $10 tickets so far from home :(
