Should be a great time, hopefully people will actually come out to it

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 16,2003 3:41pm
I think you are forgetting the # of people that go to all jarrod's shows.
It's usually me, my camera, and um.. some weird guys jumping into each other... shirts optional.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Jun 16,2003 4:44pm
jarrods blows uncontrollably. whoever books shows there should be shot in the face, run over with a truck, and then raped by paul hogan

toggletoggle post by blue  at Jun 16,2003 8:24pm
please, tell me of some of these other FREE places i can book 10+ bands at.

toggletoggle post by Terence   at Jun 16,2003 11:59pm
Oh my God, Paul Hogan, that is so familiar, who is that? This is going to be bothering me all night.

toggletoggle post by DeOdiumMortis  at Jun 17,2003 1:56am
Crocodile Dundee.
Also the butler from Joe $hitfuck's name was Paul Hogan.
Thank you internet for this useless information.

toggletoggle post by thegreatspaldino   at Jun 17,2003 2:05am
i had an ex-NASA employee math teacher that also calculated where to launch missles and stuff for Raytheon before computers and shit came into war... his name was Paul Hogan. cool guy

toggletoggle post by Terence   at Jun 17,2003 2:07am
For some reason, I thought it was somebody who hung with Bob Saget.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 17,2003 10:16am

I need a hack tivo.

thats alot of bands i dont know
i can only sit through alot of bands if i know the songs

toggletoggle post by tyagxgrind   at Jun 17,2003 10:49am
Another stupid thing about Jarrod's Place is the confirming that your acutally playing. I mean I went through the whole thing and it still doesnt work. I hope that when we go there we are allowed to play, because we've sent 3 emails to Jarrods and we've yet to get a response that were on it. haha. We'll be there though so look for us.

Devon - Vocals (TYAG)

toggletoggle post by blue  at Jun 17,2003 9:25pm
yeah, jarrod is telling me you guys havent confirmed yet.

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at Jun 17,2003 9:26pm
i hope his club goes out of business and he shoots himself

toggletoggle post by blue  at Jun 17,2003 9:37pm
i second that.

toggletoggle post by blue  at Jun 17,2003 9:38pm
he makes doing shows such a pain in the ass. and that sucks, because it is the one place (besides obriens) that we can actually play at and have it be other good bands playing with us. sometimes.

toggletoggle post by Terence   at Jun 17,2003 11:26pm
The gig confirmation page doesn't even show up for me, I contacted the webmaster and Jarrods, who the hell knows whats going to happen.

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at Jun 17,2003 11:27pm
i bet you guys will get there and he will tell you he cancelled the show and forgot to tell you

then some nu-metal bands will load in

toggletoggle post by Terence   at Jun 17,2003 11:32pm
I wouldn't doubt it, that has happened before

toggletoggle post by tyagxgrind   at Jun 19,2003 11:14am
everyone whos coming try and show up early to catch all the bands. i myself am interestedin seeing who half the bands are. haha. word.

toggletoggle post by Deek at Jun 19,2003 11:29am
I can't beleive Ascendancy is headlining this show? Unless their sound has changed in the past 5 months. When I saw these guys I was quite disapointed, maybe it's me, but I couldn't make out a single note the guitarist was playing. Running through a PA power amp with monitor speakers sounding like Asshole jsut doesn't do it for me. The bassist looked like she was petrified to be on stage. The drummer had some sick beats but they didn't even go with the music.

toggletoggle post by tyagxgrind   at Jun 19,2003 11:41am
Personally i have never caught them live before, but i think they havent seen my band live before either so it should be fun! I know that Ascendency is sick because of that crazy speed they have. Its insane all around.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 19,2003 11:50am
look at the line up. Basically, everyone is on the same level. wait, scratch that. there are two levels, local bands that I know and local bands that I don't know. Give that, it's probably hard for jarhotrod to place the bands in the shows.

Ascendancy's sound is like that of most death metal bands, they need a good producer to get their sound just right on CD. I think that will be an issue and they will either have to dish out mad $$$ for a disc or get a mad hook up with a label. Personally, I love their sound. it's like having our own local Hate Eternal/Morbid Angel with a brazilian DM drummer. Granted, I haven't seen them live with the guitarist not all gimped up, but I will this weekend, twice. The drummer doesn't match the band in one way, he goes absolutely crazy head banging with hair flying every where and the rest of the band doesn't move around that much. I agree with the bassist, she just sort of stands there, staring blankly into space. she needs to get a wireless-cable and run into the crowd swinging her bass and playing chords of the bridges of people's noses. I'm sure as their line up is solid they will get better and more comfortable live.

toggletoggle post by tyagxgrind   at Jun 19,2003 1:33pm
true dat.

toggletoggle post by DeOdiumMortis  at Jun 19,2003 2:45pm
Haha, thanks for the kind words Rev. You really haven't seen us in a long time, I'll be lucky if my head is still attached to my body at the end of the set.
And Deek, I understand your point of view competely, but we're always improving our sound. If you come to either of our shows this weekend you should hopefully notice a big difference. Thanks for the constructive criticism though, we're fully conscious of it as at our speed clarity is our biggest foe. Everyone bring earplugs, it makes everyone sound better. Unless you get off on cymbal wsssshhhhhhhh.
And we're not headlining, Jarrod's info was off.

I knew that schedule was fucked. haha. jarrod's here we come.

toggletoggle post by Terence   at Jun 20,2003 2:08am
Charlene gets nervous when we play, what the hell can you do. It's hard being in a band playing in front of people that just sit there and watch you.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 20,2003 8:07am
I think we should chip in for some drugs and pipe them in through the fog machine. We can steal the fog machine from Drifters in hudson and then the crowd would have to move around.

toggletoggle post by tyagxgrind   at Jun 20,2003 10:02am
its all good, prob after a few more shows with you guys she'll be more comfortable. some of our other memebers in the past were the same way. its cool. i think it'll be fine.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 20,2003 10:04am
I can't believe no one caught me on that lie...
the fog machines are at club euphoria, not drifters.

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at Jun 20,2003 11:17am
who cares what people think about your bassist, she is good enough to play in ascendancy then she is obviously a good bassist

brandon from BOE doesnt move either and I dont hear anyone complaining about that
but then again nobody from this message board ever goes to see BOE

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 20,2003 11:21am
nobody? I've seen them 5 times homeboy.
time for me to come put the smack down on you.

toggletoggle post by baneofexistence at Jun 20,2003 11:33am
damn man i always see the place completly full but then again "I SEE DEAD PEOPLE"

i guess we hold our own i don't think we should headline but were just happy to be playing and thats all that matters to me

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at Jun 20,2003 11:39am
no not you rev, and not a few other people
the guys from ascendancy were at their o'briens show

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 20,2003 1:39pm
I'll be there so make sure you are in your sunday best!
*snap**snap*

toggletoggle post by A_Cold_Reality   at Jun 20,2003 2:12pm
ascendancy is a good band, the only advice i would give terrence is to buy an amp rather then put his ousnd through the PA. I just don't like how that sounds, besides that its pretty sick

toggletoggle post by blue  at Jun 20,2003 2:26pm
i agree, putting the pre amps straight through the pa gives it too much of a wall of fuzz sound. if you guys need to use cabs for sunday, id be glad to help out.

toggletoggle post by tyagxgrind   at Jun 20,2003 10:35pm
i like the whole wall of noise thing. its super metal.

toggletoggle post by Terence   at Jun 21,2003 1:54am

toggletoggle post by tyagxgrind   at Jun 21,2003 5:39pm
