OK ... take this: THIS BAND KILLS!!! I just love them!
also Ive heard that theres a girl on voc ... how fucking cute!!! I certainly will buy your album and recommend it to all of my friends!
and if you have an idea for something else email it
wow, it seems like only yesterday, I was seeing my first show at O'brien's Pub where a plucky bunch of upstart kids played. this was my first time seeing the band with "two singers (one male, one female)" who had "this one part that I wasn't too thrilled with cause it sounded a little new metal, but the rest was pretty good.." and now they have come full circle into non-existence.
What filled the 4 year space between?
Well, they started in late 2001/early 2002. the early year 1/2 is sort of a mystery to me (from October-ish 2001 to june 4th 2003).
They started at a little backwoods college in Ridge, NH. The name came after the late Stanley Kubrick (rip 3/71999), a kubrick poster, and most likely a “long late night” talk about raising him. I sort of forget the story.
For sure, I know that when I saw them, they were a 5 piece. Shortly there after, Dave was let go from the band and sarah became the singer with intermittent back-ups from Pete (drummer with a Britney Spears head-set).
The 4-piece kubrick released one full-length CD on not common records in summer 2004.
With the new CD came a nice little tour down to NY and then over to Ohio and back through PA.
This line up was unchanged for about a year, but that was all about to change. In late September 2004, Pete (drums) left the band to focus on his black metal project Spider Gates.
RK searched high and low to find the best drummer they could to fill in for Pete. In Oct 2004, they announced that they friend from school, Moe, would join with them. the only thing was that from their point on, their set was basically 4 songs.
Ok, so the drummer situation is figured out. Now what about the back-up vocals? Blue (guitar) stepped up to the mic literally on this one and filled in (at most shows) for the last chapter of the kubrick tale.
After 25 concerts I saw them play at, plus one in studio performance on my radio show, they called it quits in a basement show surrounded by friends who lovingly destroyer themselves and lifted most members of RK over their heads. This showed that they acted like you are “suppose to” act. Go out leaving them wanting more.
They finally released their first CD tracks featuring Moe at this show. It was a split-CD with the taste of silver.
Why did they call it quits after 4 years? we may never know the real answer as it may be too personal.
but it could have been any number of things from sarah's voice to other projects to a feeling of just wanting to move on to future endevours. there maybe reunions in the future since you are bound to see all the members at shows and in other bands.
so don't forget their songs when it's time for the sing along at the end of their set:
now that blue is dead, all RK merch is extra Kvlt.

i remember meeting blue and kris for the first time back at the bitter end fest in feb/march of 2003. blue looked like my cousin ryan, so i remembered him. i still have the sticker and pin he gave me that day. oh the memories.
great dudes. clitorture had a lot of fun doing shows with RK. and smoking lots of reefer in a very confined bathroom in an albany hotel. and i had fun watching crow KILL moe in an arm wrestling match. hahaha.
Oh man, I appreciate them...so much. Their early formation half took place in my apartment in college when it was Williams, Dave, Pete, Blue, Jeff, & Kris. I loved them from beginning to end and I still love them! Me & Foley made homemade RK shirts before they had merch. *tear* I miss singing with Sarah Miles when she rocked out! RIP!!!
but that wasn't based on the music. it was based on their minority support.
I would have though you'd love them due to the rampantly racist jokes you could bang out with them on stage.
must be a pretty long once because I'd still fondle him...
