Has anyone heard the new record yet, I am not really sure how i feel about it. I mean the fast parts are absolutely ill, i mean sick-brutal-ill. But there are so many other parts that are so wierd and different. It's almost hard for me, cause i have to classify this band in my head as being more artsy and strange , as oppossed to really intelligent mostly brutal music.

haven't sat through the whole thing yet (there's still deathspell omega to digest... and i downloaded some live portishead shit a little while ago that will require a great deal of my time)

... but btbam smacks of effort.
i mean, you can almost hear the band meetings...

"weirder, man... weirder"

....you know your right. But it's ok, I really like the wierd stuff, it's not that I don't enjoy it, it's just that I miss the constant brutality of Silent Circus.

but Silent Circus had some constant buggery to counteract the brutality. first time i heard that song... track four, i think... Mordechai? ... i worried that if somebody heard me listening to it, they'd question my sexuality

haha...caring about what other people think about what you're listening to

I'm sure you're kidding, so it's alright.

I only question people's sexuality when they gaybash.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Aug 29,2007 9:23pm
ok, silent circus still definately had wierd parts and slow tunes (track5+6) but you just skip from track4 to track7 and it's gravy...and if you thought silent circus was wierd, you probably dont want to listen to colors. It's much, much wierder.

It's true though.

I was listening to colors today, and as I pulled into the gas station with my windows open the heavy part had just ended and it was that muppetsy sounding "la la la la, lalala" part. As I got out of my car, I noticed everyone pumping gas around me was looking at me funny.

ha. You're obviously a fag fucker.

How come it is that when one gay bashes all the fag supporters assume they are "closet gays". I guess if that logic holds even an ounce credibility then every time I bash on Muslims it must mean that I am a closet Muslim. Why the double standard when it comes to ho-ho-homo ass fuckers?

I listened to "Colors" for the first time yesterday and it pisses me off to no end. Like the original post says, the heavy parts are fucking awesome, for the most part. The album has no consistent flow to it at all, so that ruins it for me. There are certain grooves that I want to continue or transition into other types of riffs, but then they just go into some stupid keyboard interlude or pseudo-jazz break. The vocals have also pissed me off more and more with each album. The lows are fucking horrendous, but I suppose the redeeming quality is that they are recognizable. Clean vocals have got to go as well; the melodies are good, but the singer does not seem to have the correct range to execute what he's trying to pull off.

I'll probably listen to this again tomorrow and like it more, but this was my first impression.

I was just kinda fucking around when I posted my previous comment but now that you got all up and arms about it....I stand corrected. If you really think that double standard bullshit you spewed holds any validity I'm gonna have to fuck you until you stop liking it. Remember this is the internet and I'm not into this as much as you.
