i'm probably going to RI tomorrow though.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 6,2007 4:04pm
I hope aeon didn't cancel. I thought the abscene cancelled and aeon took their place. carina is right, aeon is the reason for me going. otherwise I would be at home licking carina into gasping fits.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Oct 6,2007 4:10pm
FUCK! If Aeon is playing, I am pissed. Today is a bad day to be broke.

toggletoggle post by fishcakes at Oct 6,2007 4:11pm

Shit, I forgot The Red Chord are playing. I haven't seem them in forever. I've seen Cannibal Corpse 6 or 7 times, so I'm all set with them.

the absene: they replaced aeon (*sniff*) cause aeon couldn't get visas. Sucks. Any how, they set is a lot more old school metal than I remember or hear on the CD. A lot of people who don't like heartwork and don't listen to heartwork would probably compare them to that. The audience was a little small for their set, but they played the best they could with that. During the middle, they split the audience in half. Someone in the crowd started yelling "wall of death". Instead, they got 1/2 they crowd to get something, I think it was "fuck" and the other 1/2 to yell "yeah"

goatwhore: the crowd looked a little bigger, but again, the sun was still up. Blasphemy! They got people to do something for the audience participation portion of the program. I was out of he room so idk what it was. I'm sure it was right before the black sun cult.their performance was on par with all their other shows. No denying these guys bring it with the same intensity each and every single show. I'm sort of sad that they cut out the slower songs for this, their shortest set in a long time.

red chord, the: this is their semi-home coming show. There were plenty of people in the audience singing along and moshing for then. They came out of the gate running and barely stopped between songs to say "babba booie return to the pit babba booie" it was unfortunate that I couldn't be down there to shoot the insuing violence that came in two flavors, white and dirty immigrant (way to be chuck). You could tell from their set that they were a little tired. I don't know how long this tour has been out, but I know that even I'm a little tired, etc... If I'm away from my home even over night. I can't imagine weeks or months on tour. During DIDY, some crowd surfer immediately took out the mic and in was out through the how hypertension thing, until the alright part. So their set sort of just ended.

the text correction on my phone had that word so I went with it.

[band=the-black_dahlia_murder]: one of these days, I hope they do come out and play a carcass song. That would be both hilarious and awesome all at once. Their set was a mixture of old, middle and new tracks. It's the best seeing them come through all the line up changes and still rule the stage. And rule even this stage they did. All the members (like the red chord) spend a lot of time in the face of the front row. It's awesome that they are still enjoying what this and playing with ever increasing audiences. Their set as with TRC just sort of ended. They didn't even finish their last song.

im mad that i missed that. goddamn. me and pires got stuck in waterfire traffic. SO FUCKING PISSED. if anyone can please explain to me one positive aspect of providence waterfire i would be glad to stop bashing it but until then i just dont understand why thousands of people sit in traffic for hours to see some fuckin sticks coming out of the water with fire on top. its just fuckin retarted. anyways, we got there just in time to see black dalhia murder, missed red chord. so we went outside and smoked some cigarettes. all their songs sound exactly the same, and they arent even original, i just dont get it. i guess cannibal was worth the free ticket and 3 dollar water, and an hour in traffic almost over heating my jeep. meh show meh night. just meh.

for this tour, the absence said that if you showed up to the show with a trivium shirt, they would trade you for an absence shirt. can anybody confirm if they still did this? i just think its hilarious

when i saw corpse last year, some faggy 16 year old kept on yelling out dethklok songs before i had to explain to him that George Fisher does not play nathan explosion; then after the show he was asking alex webster if he remembered him from sounds of the underground.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 7,2007 2:13am
zeez goggles zey do nozing!

toggletoggle post by handinjury at Oct 7,2007 1:26pm
I was disappointed with cannibals sound,it took about half the set for the sound guy to even everything out. Goatwhore was boring, just like the last time I saw them at the old Lupos. Red chord & Black dalhia was alright, their drummer was pretty tight. $4.50 beers.

Rev is the man for using one of the most hilarious simpson's quote ever.

Ok TRC was great i thought. I've seen em a bunch and the sound quality back by the bar was awesome. I could hear everything. I really like BDM but really somethin about the singers attitude pisses me off... not really sure, but he just does. And not finishing Miasma was real real lame. Goatwhore was alright, and i went outside to hand out my bands cds before corpse played. I heard they were great though.

cannibal corpse: the thing about cannibal corpse is they always play really well. I cant think of a single set that I've seen from them that wasnt the same consistency. This band is now basically just alex, george and some other dudes to me. I really have no idea who the other people in this band are. Anyhow, the sound wasn't too bad. I think it was a little quiet/muffled, but still really good for the venues shape. That's too bad cause all of the other bands sounded really good. Their set was typically 72 minutes of all stuff that I knew, just the exact same length as the live CD for their tour.

Jeesh rev, get up to date. Paul (drums) has been in the band since the beginning.
Rob barrett was on stage right (was in malevolent creation for awhile) played on The bleeding, Vile, and Kill albums. Pat O'Brien on stage left, joined the band when Rob left in 1998 for the Gallery of suicide album to current(the last 5 albums).

Other Cannibal info: Jack Owen left Cannibal to go play indie rock, because he was bored with metal. But, he plays in deicide now.
