To put a positive on this. To live such a long life and still have a mind as sharp as his was up until the day he died is probably the most you can ever ask for out of life.

i don't even see the need to mourn...his catalogue is an amazing tribute to a great man, and in my opinion i think he'd rather us celebrate his life as opposed to complain about how cruel said circumstances might have been

we should all wear brown ribbons in honor of the man's passing.

honestly though, ever since I first saw his skits on Turkey Televison on Nickalodeon the man had been such an influence in my life growing up, a positive male role model if you will, that I can't help but be saddened and emo. oh well, sad face for me.

Shitty. I just listened to a couple Carlin albums last night before bed, like I do almost every damned night, and now I wake up to the worst fuckin' news ever.

Rest in Peace George, now you don't need a place for your stuff.

On that note though, I'm going to find, download and listen to Paris Hilton's terrible, awful CD tonight before bed, and fall asleep praying. If it has to happen to someone I respect and appreciate, why not someone I abhor and wish death upon already?

This fucked up my whole day, and probably week. he was my favorite comedian. the last stand up I saw him do he looked really ragged but still looked sharp in his eyes and that lashing tongue, haha. He was really hunched over though. He ruled and will be missed.

This in the ONLY time in my whole life that a celebrity died and i actually morned them. I loved this mans work. He was so real, so cynical, so fucking hilarious.

This is the worst loss of a comedian since bill hicks. Althouh Bill obviously didnt live as long, but that doesnt change anything. Those two guys were the only ones with real strong voices and good opinions, and who wanted to share them with everyone..... So now let me quote two Carlin pieces for everyone:

"Rat-Shit, Bat-Shit, Dirty-Old-Twat, Sixty-nine assholes tied in a knot, Hooray, Lizard-Shit, FUCK!"

or

"I can prove to you that RAPE is funny.... Picture Porky Pig raping Elmer Fud... He was asking for it"

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete... Remember, spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side. Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent. Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you. Remember, to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Summary of the eRumor
A message said to have come from George Carlin on the occasion of his wife's death and his commentary on the nation after the Attack on America on September 11, 2001. It has also circulated as having been written by a surviving student of the Columbine high school massacre in Colorado

The Truth
This has been circulating on the Internet for quite a while...long before September 11, and is not from George Carlin.
Those who know George Carlin's views would immediately know that the comments in "The Paradox of Our Time" do not match those of Carlin.
On his website at www.georgecarlin.com he denies authorship and criticizes the piece.
The rumor that these words were spoken on the occasion of the death of his wife are a recent addition to the eRumor, which began circulating about 1999.
There are many websites that quote from this now classic eRumor and identify it as having been written by Jeff Dickson in 1998.
Thanks to a tip from one of our readers, we have found the original author, however.
It is minister, author, and former pastor of Overlake Christian Church in Redmond, Washington.
In a response to an inquiry by TruthOrFiction.com, Dr. Moorehead said he wrote it in 1990.
It was later published in 1995 in his book WORDS APTLY SPOKEN.

I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating ...and you finish off as an orgasm."

its rare that i see something a comedian said in writing and actually laugh at it. mostly comedy is in the delivery. But not only did carlin have the absolute best delivery of probably any comedian ever....but he also was the best writer. This here made me burst out in laughter. One of the things i loved the most about George was the way he could just start listing things out and could go on for minutes listing things that were actually pretty tricky to say by themselves but he would say them as fast as he could and would never skip a beat or slip up at all.

A guy like Freddy Boy (as well as ALL of his followers) deserves the deepest, darkest part of Hell. Those people are fucking evil.

george carlin made more of an impact on the world than this clown ever will. that's what people will remember when this douche joins carlin among the deceased, if people even remember this lunatic at all.

I've been watching a lot of George Carlin lately on Youtube... there is something magical about hearing the guy talk. It gives me hope for humanity in a way that nobody else does, and even though the guy's dead, it still rings just the same.
