Venom playing in a church |
|
The show my mom and dad put on in the bedroom. That would be so sweet. |
|
....And when I was there I would high-five my dad then slap him in the nuts. |
|
There's a good number of metal shows that I would have loved to see.
However, if I had a time machine, i'd want to travel further back in time and witness various different things in music -
Beethoven and Bach in their prime, Stravinsky's music causing a riot, jazz in the 40s, many different classic rock and prog bands in the late 60s-70s.. and so on. |

yeah, ya know its really strange, i was going to shows at 14. Two or three a week even, then i hit 21, and stopped going for about 4 years, so that whole time in the middle there, i only went to a couple dozen shows. But, i saw a lot of good ones, and now i am back in action. So i guess i don't get the right to say the "I been in the scene for 15 years" bullshit cause i missed a section. Damnit.
Anyways, let me answer the thread. The show i would go back to see, was one i was at. It was the day after xmas, either 98 or 99, maybe 97. Who knows. It was. (in the order they played, or close to it, i have a good memory)
Force fed glass
Isis
Ire
Peacemeal
Seven Day Curse
Harvest
Dillinger Escape Plan
Barritt
Today is the Day
Converge
Cave In
It was at the "space" IN worchester, otherwise known as the "artist alliance" right off of 122. I miss that place, i saw most of my favorite shows there. ANYONE remember that place... was anyone else at this show?
Drowningman was supposed to show, but simon was sick or someshit. |

and any show from the first tour from The Haunted |
|
I'd sneak into Pink Floyd @ Pompeii.
That would be awesome. |
|
I agree with a lot of the posts up here. GG, Metallica during Puppets, etc.
Gotta add one though - Any Stevie Ray Vaughan show. Particularly after he got cleaned up. Because he was one of those rare exceptions where stopping drugs didn't fuck up his creativity and talent. |
|
I'm pretty sure Death and Dark Angel toured together at some point, right? That show. |

I'd like to go back in time to watch the first run of The Honeymooners so I can say something like, "This is a classic" and Wayne from the Wonder Years can look at me and say it's a new episode then I'll tell him I saw it on a rerun and he'll ask, "What's a rerun?"
Then my mom would try to have sex with me.

Any Zeppelin show in LA around the time of the Hyatt residency, so I could hit the Rainbow after, get punched by Bonham and then fuck that Lori Maddox chick under a table when she was like 15, thus being both a kid-toucher AND indirectly having sex with Jimmy Page.
And then there was that Morbid Angel / At The Gates / Dissection / Fallen Christ show at the Wetlands in '94 or '95. |

Don't get me wrong, i still love going to shows, but i feel like most of the great shows nowadays are in big places with big bands, back then there were so many cutting edge bands that were so good, and played so many local shows. Remeber Die my Will? I saw them at the space once or twice, they were frieking SICK. |
