It's a music school that teaches rock 'n roll instruments in Watertown:

http://www.schoolofrock.com/boston

Every season, there are 3 shows - kids get to pick the artist or genre they wish to study. Each show consists of 15-22 students; the music director casts the kids on songs, like a director would cast actors in a play. We perform at places like The Middle East, Great Scott, and yes, the Tsongas Arena (will be back there on 3/21).

Gee, so it's not alright to be upset about:

- losing a club that gave 200+ bands opportunities to play every month, and welcomed all genres.
- losing $1500 a month in income when one has a mortgage, a family, and graduate school to pay for.

Seriously, until someone can walk a mile in my shoes (well, combat boots, in any case!), they need to get over themselves.

We just lost about 2500 dollars a month (our only income) with 2 kids, rent, bills and full time school to pay for, and clubs come and go, it happens all the time. To lots of people. Be bummed but if you're expecting delicate or royal treatment from RTTP for dealing with normal life events (or anything for that matter) you're looking at guaranteed disappointment.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Feb 10,2009 11:55am
rttp is neither delicate nor royal

toggletoggle post by pam   at Feb 10,2009 11:56am
Neither is life. Get a helmet.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Feb 10,2009 11:57am
it would be prudent to not take anything personally here
