" Mitch Lucker, singer for the Riverside heavy metal band Suicide Silence, died Thursday morning, Nov. 1, after being in a motorcycle crash Wednesday night.
The Orange County coroner’s office said Lucker was pronounced dead at 6:17 a.m. Thursday at UCI Medical Center in Orange County.
Coroner’s officials said Lucker was hospitalized after a motorcycle accident shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday. Huntington Beach police were investigating the crash and expected to release details Thursday morning...."

While I absolutely hate everything to do with deathcore, I agree with The Rev about the band being nice.
Every story i've heard about my highschool friends with bad taste in music meeting any of the SS guys was just one big story about how nice and sweet they were. And I know the guys in SS were like best friends with the guys in Suffocation and Dying Fetus too.
And didn't Suicide Silence donate like 5,000 dollars to a Christmas charity or something like that?

To be fair, plenty of people(metalheads, punks, corekids, etc.) write songs about that kind of shit.
If you're going to assume someone's is/was a bad person because of the lyrics they wrote, then most metal musicians are awful people. |

Personally I think writing a "sincere" song about that kind of stuff doesn't mean anything compared to actually DOING it.
I think American Psycho has a disgusting sincerity to it, but it doesn't mean I think the author is fucked up.

I agree with that, but you are at the very least condoning it when you write about doing it yourself, regardless of whether or not you're actually going to. Once again, not into it. Just seems like there wasn't enough thought put into the song and if there was, it wouldn't have been released. |
