New site? Maybe some day.

Huge fan of Hall of the Mountain King, and I understand that apparently it's their "best" album but i'm still interested in checking them out way more. I'm also a big fan of Streets, even if it's really different. They're the only Savatage albums I really know.
What other Savatage albums should I check out? Also, are there any Jon Oliva's Pain albums I should check out?
THANKS GUYZ. |

(Big fan of both prog and thrash, so recommendations of any era is fine for me) |

Power of the Night, Sirens, and The Dungeons Are Calling are all essential. |

inb4 hookedonme... dammit! |

Gutter Ballet (1989), good summer music. Hall of the Mountain King (1987), good September/October listening. |

You gotta be quicker than that to get the inb4 on me, mister. |

Carmine is fast like a 80's speed metal band. (inb4 homoerotic connotations are made)
Anyone with any opinions about post-80's Savatage or Jon Oliva's Pain? |
|
My favorite Zak album is The Wake of Magellan. Dead Winter Dead and Edge of Thorns follow; the rest contain some good material but aren't as consistent.
The first Jon Oliva's Pain album is the best and only very good one; the rest you can live without. But Jon's Raise the Curtain album from 2013 is great. |
|
I will go on the record and say Gutter Ballet by Savatage is a solid place to start then go to their earlier albums, not a big fan of Jon Oliva's pain albums really, cant even remember the one I have either. |
