She was hot, I remember the video. She's probably old, fat and cracked out now -- a perfect candidate for German fecal fetish movies.

Well, yeah. Luft = red in German I believe.

i'm pretty sure it means "air"

i think she's saying "neun und neunzig luft ballons" which is just 99 balloons. If she say's "red" then there's a "rot" in there somewhere.

Ron Burgundy: Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

OK, I don't really speak German, but the English version of that song is "99 Red Balloons" -- they had both a German and English version.

Luft=air, yes. HMMM, the band. I dunno, I cannot remember, and I am old.

toggletoggle post by scoracrasia   at Dec 22,2005 5:05pm
Nena, duh. I am drunk.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Dec 22,2005 6:22pm
i always thought 99 luft balloons was a band. i'm a dummy.

they hired her as the singer becuase she looked good, not because of her singing

and yes, that was their only hit. Regardless, they are still famous for it. 8 million punk bands have covered that song.
