"don't fuck with your brain pal, it ain't worth it!" |
That's pretty fucking cool actually...I don't think I'd ever do it though, it'd probably backfire somehow. |
Hopefully they find a cure instead of an easy way to acquire autism. |
If theu cure autism then there would finally be a reason to make Rain Man 2 |
Man, fuck this - I can't even imagine what it's like to live in the headspace of you neurotypical motherfuckers. (Of course, the whole point of being autistic in the first place is that, by definition, I can't imagine what it's like to be in your heads, so I guess that goes without saying.) (Ok, now I'm confused.)
Anyway, I don't need this breakthrough, I already have autism. What I need is a pill that gives me Tourette's. Now that'd be worth getting health insurance for FUCKSHITBALLS LICKMYTAINT. |
Fuck, there's a pill that can make me normal? Give me that shit! |
what was that movie/book where the guy was wicked happy being retarded... then took medication, became normal. After a few weeks, he reverted back and was wicked sad because now he knew he was retarded. |

there is a book thats the opposite of that. its called "How I Became Stupid" and its about this guy thats really smart and isnt happy at all and then he just starts acting really stupid and ignorant and it makes his life better but finds he is still miserable then he goes back to being smart and is just content enough with how it is because he realizes that no matter what everything blows. |

Flowers for Algernon |
thats what i thought too, but in flowers for algernon, a retarded guy becomes super intelligent, more so than the scientists that made him so, and realizes the flaw in their calculations which will cause him to slowly degenerate and eventually die, which is why he was wicked sad |

Madukes, My son is also severely autistic, and I have said to people that I would not have it any other way for the great personality he has. He is 10 years old now and made alot of progress. He was really bad for awhile, but with alot of work from me and his teachers is doing much better, yet still difficult as hell. But I would NEVER want to change his personality he has developed into a sweetheart with sympathy for others, and now has an awesome sense of humor that can only come from his disability. You and I know how hard it is but I would not trade it for anything. he is incapable of lying, and alway truthful, in good and bad ways, haha.

And for the record, not all autistic people are "stupid"
Even the non-savant ones are very intelligent in their own ways. My son blows me away with some of the things he says. He is 10 years old, and remembers things from when he was 1 year old!!!!!!!!!! he has the memory of an elephant!!!! |

By the time I was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, I was already 18 and it was mild by then. I don't really think about it anymore. I don't like telling other people that I was diagnosed with something because I really just don't think it matters. At this point in my life I've had other people hear that I was diagnosed with AS and not believe it. Back in my childhood I had it really bad and my mom kept taking me to doctors who kept telling her "No no, he's fine" because they were only diagnosing full blown autism at that point in time. In any case, while I still generally don't like talking to people too much, I guess I am normal by now. For the most part anyway. |
