News.RttP{These Are: Breaks Up}

For anyone interested in what's been going on (and not going on) in These Are: land here's a quick little update:

February 9th will be our last show. It's with a bunch of killer bands - Astronomer, Yavinfive, and Magna Mater at the Cow Hou. 16 Plymouth St. Lowell, MA 01854. 6 PM sharp. All ages. FREE with a BJ. $5 with an HJ. $10 if you're a prude. Just kidding. $20 if you're a prude. But seriously, it's free.

We'll finally be releasing our long overdue split cd with Astronomer! Over the past few months I've undertaken the laborious task of reworking, remixing, and remastering 4 of the 5 tracks that we tracked with Ethan D at New Alliance last August. The long and short of it was that we really, really, really rushed things in the studio and as a result got a product that we weren't truly proud of. Both Ethan and Nick Z (New Alliance East) did an amazing job considering our ridiculous time constraints and poor performances. Given enough time, less shenanigans, and better performances I know that those dudes could've blown these mixes out of the water. At any rate, these new mixes are a much closer approximation of what I was hearing in my head when I wrote these tunes. CD's will be available for free at the show and a digital version will also be available for download soon (as well as streaming on the myspace). We hope you enjoy the tracks.

So yah, I guess this is it unfortunately. TA: was just never something that the band, as a whole, could dedicate the immense amount of time and energy that it takes to be in a band to. Staggering amounts of effort coupled with line-up changes and financial difficulties made TA: a very difficult project to be involved in. It's sad to see it come to an end but in some ways it's a huge relief. We made some awesome friends and had some really great times over the past 2 years. Not to mention that we managed to drink enough booze to get Rhode Island drunk a few times over (bad NOFX reference, sorry). Anyways, come out and rock out with us one last time. It'll be fun and there will obviously be healthy dose of dick jokes.

Thanks to everyone that ever had anything to do with this project. In the immortal words of Dave Chappelle - "Zip it uuuuppppp and zip it ouuuuuuut!"
