ya i saw it today too, i enjoyed the begining alot and great classical music, but i felt that it was too long and the ending was kindof cheesy, 7 out of 10

sorry, but i thought this was one of the worst movies i've ever seen.
horrible acting, the most amount of cheesy lines in a movie...yuk.
it was all over the place. first it seems like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, then Monster Squad, suddenly its Batman, Aliens, Gremlins, Star Wars, Indiana Jones... Christ!!! even Speed for chrissakes!!!

yeah it had the classic hollywood cheese, i still enjoyed it though

ok so moran didn't seem to enjoy it despite the beautiful leading lady!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 9,2004 3:47am
it was pretty good.
reminded me of castlevania.

take all the moster/vampire/wehrwolfe/frankenstein storys, blend them up and pure them into one movie and that's van helsing.

toggletoggle post by moran   at May 9,2004 4:09am edited May 9,2004 4:09am
Kate Beckinsale was the only thing that made it watchable for me and my colleagues. Other than that, everything about it sucked.

toggletoggle post by Abbath at May 9,2004 11:49am
kate beckinsale is a goddess
but i felt that the movie went on FOREVER, i was just looking around the theater to see if other people were thinking the same thing, and there was some people in agony, i thought the accents were horrible, it was killing my ears
it was intresting to see how they change the frankenstein into a robot of some kind, but then he talked and bitch throughout the movie, hugh jackman was a bad ass though

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at May 9,2004 12:47pm
was it as bad as underworld? i had to shut that movie off after a half hour. i think van helsing looks like it could be worth seeing just for the special effects, but is the rest of the movie really unbearable?

toggletoggle post by moran   at May 9,2004 12:59pm
Everything about it was unbearable. Especially the special effects. One of the people I was with said that Underworld was better.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 9,2004 1:16pm
it was way too loud....

the idea with the wehrwolfes taring off the human skin was cool.

toggletoggle post by moran   at May 9,2004 1:26pm
OK, I'll give you that. And Dracula's true form was kinda cool looking. But thats it.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at May 9,2004 2:01pm
if underworld was better, i am definitely not seeing this movie.

toggletoggle post by succubus  at May 9,2004 2:07pm
underworld was NOT better..not at all
imho
