hmmm, the ever influencial media made it popular with shows about homos living "normal" lifestyles. The media supports same sex marriage. And almost everybody gets their news and opinions from big papers, TV and radio... I wonder who owns the vast majority of the peoples opinions??

i don't know if any of you listen to 96.9 (the talk station that has Bill O'Reilly and Michael Graham), but i listen to it at work sometimes and everyday i hear this commericial multiple times (between 3 and 7PM) from the Mass Citizens for Marriage who obviously wants to get the gay marriage ban on the ballot in 2008 (and succeeded) but in one of the commercials they say something like "Nobody should be telling our children that homosexuality is a normal practice that they should try." Like it's something that people dabble in!
I think it's amazing that this is such a big political issue. It just shows how stupid people are in this country. I don't know how much shit i'll catch on this board, but I honestly don't think there is a valid argument against gay marriage. It's ridiculous.

actually, being serious, i agree with you about how ridiculous it is for people to try to focus so much of the government's time on banning gay marriage. as the kid from brooklyn says, let them suffer like the rest of us. who cares? if your going to ban anything, ban shows like will & grace and other tv shows that have annoying flamboyant gay guys on them. those shows get really annoying. if a gay guy wants to get married, let him. if he wants a sitcom, don't let him. it's simple.
