I love cats, I have a tattoo of a cat and I plan on getting more. The picture that Eric posted of Rocky just about sums it up, that little cute fluffy sleeps with us every nite and is the most faithful companion I've ever had (except Eric of course).
Terriers suck for the most part. Cats are often aloof in nature, which is why metalheads tend to favor them. And why do you feel the need to say you haven't knocked on cats? You're defending dogs, sounds like knocking to me. argument is invalid
Defending dogs superiority as a companion to humans, without any ill intent towards cats. I enjoy both animals, but dogs do more for THE WORLD than cats can ever dream of.

Which makes them great TOOLS. Meanwhile, as pets, they drool, pee, jump all over you when you're trying to carry groceries in the house, chew shit, and generally are INCREDIBLY STUPID yet fiercely loyal animals. Which is why dog lovers USUALLY love them - they are the most loyal creatures around.
I was a dog person all my life. 10 years ago I got a cat when I found dogs weren't allowed here. Now I love both, but prefer cats for their low maintenance. The other day I had to attend a funeral out of town overnight. I put out extra food and water and they were fine. Try that with a dog sometime.

I used to live in a house that had six cats in the enclosed porch, along with an old cat who came in and out. That changed my opinion of cats, was never a fan until then. Cleaning multiple litter boxes for six cats that get fed really well and are constantly shitting sucks, but what are you gonna do?
